Blackhawks in Town as Flyers Host the West's Best

The Flyers, coming off a lousy game against Boston and basically looking mediocre ever since curling took the nation by storm, face a challenging Chicago team in a 1:00 p.m start at the Wachovia Center this afternoon. The Flyguys poor play isn't just frustrating the fans. The man upstairs is quite perturbed as well.

From Tim Pannacio's article yesterday afternoon.

“We better damn straight make ’em,” Flyers chairman Ed Snider told
CSNPhilly.com on Friday, when asked about the team’s playoff grip
loosening a bit here.

“After last night, I’m a little bit
upset. I hope we’re headed for something. We could end up in eighth and
headed for Washington. The way we played last night, the couple games
before that, it’s not exciting.”

Nope. It certainly is not. If they play as poorly this afternoon, Philly fans may be forced to give their remote control a work out and check out the weather in Florida this time of year.

Michael Leighton will once again be in net this afternoon following a 5 4 goals allowed effort against the Bruins on Thursday. The orange men in front of him certainly didn't help his cause in that one though.

Hockey fans had the pleasure of watching plenty of Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews during the Olympics. Today you get to watch them on a line with Patrick Sharp. The Blackhaws should give the Flyers a test this afternoon. How the orange and black respond will be telling about how the rest of the season should go.
