Foodball Food for Fans ~ Week 13, originally uploaded by Mark K_NJ

I joke about being disappointed when the football food for the week doesn't include some juicy meat, but in reality I'd rather eat anything Mark cooks up over my crappy take out.  That being said, this week fits the meaty criteria nicely.

From Mark's flickr page:

Today was New York Strip Sliders. I
grilled up two New York Strips steaks (olive oil, gray salt, fresh
black pepper). Once done, I sliced them up to fit on little "slider
rolls." My topping: Provolone cheese and a port wine reduction of diced
onion, garlic, shallot, salt, pepper, sauteed in some port wine. Once
it reduced, I added about a cup of chicken stock. I then let that
really reduce down and topped the sandwiches with it.

As a side,
homemade mac and cheese with a twist: Gemini pasta, New York cheddar
and diced chorizo to give it a nice smokey flavor.

Homemade mac and cheese is one of the most underrated foods.  No store bought crap comes even close.
