The Old Man pitched a gem yesterday and gave the Nationals very little chance to play a spoiler's role in the Phillies season, but a great side story this year is that Jamie Moyer grew up a Phillies fan. We'd heard all about it when he returned to the area to wind down his career, and his steady presence all year at the back of the rotation played a huge role when injuries set in to other starters.
And on top of that, he skipped school in 1980 to head down to Broad Street to watch the World Series parade. We love this guy.
