Lieber and Pedro both pitched extremely well, but it was the bullpen for the Phil's which cost them the game. BS&S hit the nail on the head when discussing a move Manuel made to pinch hit for Lieber in the top of the 7th which pretty much backfired. Terry Adams came in and did nothing but give the Mets a 3 run lead. I turned it off as soon as Beltran hit a bomb to right. He is on my fantasy team, and it figures he starts producing when I don't want him to.
Jose Offerman is now batting a whopping .158 for the season. In happier thoughts, Chase Utley continued to show he can be an everyday player. Chase went 2-3 and scored the only run for the Phils on a heady base running move. Now if only we could get him in the lineup everyday, my fantasy team would be happy.

During the top of the seventh inning, the Phillies had a little rally going, managing to score their only run (due to some aggressive base-running by Chase Utley, who was on third-base, on a ball that was hit weakly to the third-baseman...Utley took off for home when the fielder threw to first-base). However, with two outs and a runner on second, Charlie Manuel elected to pinch-hit for Jon Lieber in an attempt to break the 1-1 tie. Jose Offerman, the pinch-hitter failed to drive the run in, and Terry Adams was brought in to face the Mets in the bottom of the inning.
