"First, while I dispute that the facts are as alleged, I recognize that
my behavior was inappropriate and for that I apologize," Myers said in
a statement Tuesday. "Second, I recognize that the incident created an
embarrassing situation for many people, including my wife and family,
my teammates, the Phillies organization, and fans, and I am very sorry
for that."

No matter what he said, the fact that it took more than a couple of days to come up with an apology, people are going to think it is contrived. I suppose him taking a leave of absence from the team and issuing some sort of apology is a step in the right direction. Now we can focus on something good, like Phillies baseball.
