The Flyers continued to reward the newfound fandom of Rob Iracane with another blowout win last night, 4-0 over the Thrashers. Mr. Iracane, a native North Jerseyan, has adopted Philly as his second sports home, rooting for both the Eagles and the Flyers this season. The result? The Flyers are on fire. Better yet, no action from the league offices in Toronto is believed to be forthcoming. Marty Biron stood on his head, stopping all 31 Atlanta shots he faced, and the Carter line continued to produce, with Carter now equaling Danny Briere's 4 goals in the first 5 games.
The Flyers are also a month ahead of last year's pace, when they notched their 4th win on November 15th. It must be the Iracane factor.
