The Phillies will attempt to avoid a four game sweep at the hands of the St. Louis Cardinals. Not only could the Cards bring out the brooms in St. Louis this afternoon, but word on the tweets is that the Cardinals are now leaders in the Roy Oswalt race. According to some speculation, Oswalt may prefer the golly-gee attitude of a Midwestern city over the meany-mean-mean media of Philadelphia. Or something like that. Who knows to be sure, as Oswalt has not been quoted directly on the matter.
On the bright side for the Phillies, Cole Hamels will take the mound this afternoon to try and put a stop to the troubling skid. Hamels has been very good as of late and one of the lone positives for the Phillies.
