Phils Interested in Feliz

Ken Rosenthal of Foxsports.com is reporting that interest surrounding 3B Pedro Feliz is heating up, and the Phillies are one of the teams in the hunt:

The Phillies currently are looking at a third-base platoon of Wes Helms
and Greg Dobbs, but like the idea of Feliz hitting at hitter-friendly
Citizens Bank Park and occasionally spelling first baseman Ryan Howard
against tough left-handers. However, they would need to move Helms, who
is owed $2.9 million, before signing Feliz, sources say.

The hit at the box office could be devastating if they trade fan-favorite Wes Helms, but I think they might want to take this calculated risk. More Rosenthal on Feliz:

Pedro Feliz averaged 21 homers the past four seasons playing his home
games at pitcher-friendly SBC Park. He is above-average defensively at
third base, and also can play first base and left field. If his career
on-base percentage were .348 instead of .248, he probably would be a
$10 million player.
