Ryan Howard's Mom Gives Him an Allowance

Share

This is classic Ryan Howard.

Howard, profiled on HBO's "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel" in a
segment to air Monday night, talks about how his financial adviser -
his mother - gives him an allowance out of the money he earns.

"She handles the funds. Like, I'll get it, and then I won't see it.
She'll let me look at the check, and then it's gone," Howard said.

The 27-year-old St. Louis native made $355,000 last year.

Without a doubt the best value in baseball last season.  Just more proof that Ryan Howard is a down to earth kind of guy.  I love it.

Most reports I've seen this off-season expect the Phillies to give Howard a raise somewhere in excess of the one million dollar area.  His big payday seems to be a few years away.
