Thad on his game winning three: ‘thought I was going to make it before I even got the ball'

Beating the Charlotte Bobcats on your home court may not be the most exciting thing in the world but Thad Young hitting a three pointer in the final seconds to help secure the win certainly provided some great drama. Thad got a great look and took the shot with confidence and nailed it.

His quotes following the game about actually thinking he'd make the shot before he ever even got the ball were pretty great. From CSNPhilly's John Gonzalez's game story:

“I don’t know what they were thinking when they both ran to Mike,” Young said. “I was kind of like wide open, and I was like ‘OK, I’m making this shot. I haven’t made [a three] the whole game. Whatever it takes, it’s going to go down.’”

[...]

“They both ran at Mike and I was like, ‘This is the most perfect look that you can ever get as far as a shot,’” said Young, who scored 11 points to go with five rebounds. It was just the fourth time in the last 12 games that he didn’t score 20 or more points. “And I knocked it down.”

The win pushed the Sixers to 13-25 on the season and just a game behind Boston and two behind both Brooklyn and New York in the win column. Pretty weird.

Oh, and definitely don't miss Tony Wroten's big slam over Michael Kidd-Gilchrest if you haven't seen it yet. Big time dunk right there.
