The story is well known by now. Could -- coming off perhaps the greatest six win season. In baseball history. He finished in the NL top ten -- ERA. And whip. But the wins just wouldn't come. -- reflect on a -- I would say it was frustrating individually and as frustrating the way we put him all the way around so. Wasn't what we expected and fortunately we got a new year kinda redeem ourselves. Of course much of the reason for the Phillies struggles last season into -- meager win total. Was a bullpen that simply imploded. Especially before the all star break that bullpen has been revamped. And if all goes according to plan. Lee's record this season will reflect those improvements. I -- -- through the whole game every time suddenly. Look to hand the ball over another -- that happens that I try to get your reading and doing it all nine innings I can. -- -- -- -- -- This stack them that's what we got we got young guys that. An unbelievable stuff from have a month and -- -- in Durban some veteran guys that. And improving and doing it for a while also. I have -- lawlessness. What is aware that the nationals and the Braves are both being picked ahead of the Phillies this season in the now least. But in typical Cliff -- fashion appears unfazed. They don't really matter to me one way or the other whether we're getting -- -- the -- supposed to win and the underdogs or whatever and on the matter to me. But saw. Soft heart zone obviously nationals won the division last year so they. And earn the right to do that seem to be every teams trying to land is nothing's. Nothing's guaranteed itself. Had a Cuban people keep -- and try to get yourself a chance. How good was Cliff Lee in the second half of last season check out these numbers struck out a 109 batters and walked just eight. If he pitches like that again this year stands a good chance to triple those six wins. Reporting from Clearwater Jim Salisbury CSN Philly dot com.
