Haason Reddick asks for help to pick jersey number

When Haason Reddick held his first press conference as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles last week, he said he still wasn’t sure what jersey number he would wear.

He’s still undecided.

On Tuesday, he put the question out to Eagles fans: Which number should he go with?

Reddick, 27, has worn just one number during his five-year NFL career. He wore No. 43 with both the Cardinals for four seasons and with the Panthers in 2021.

So why would he think about switching?

Well, because the No. 7 means a lot to him too.

Reddick began his career at Temple as a walk-on and wore No. 58, but before the 2016 season was awarded a single-digit jersey. According to his Temple bio, single-digit numbers are awarded “to the toughest players on the team as voted on by the players.”

So maybe his return to Philadelphia will make him think about going back to No. 7 or maybe even to No. 58.

Just last year, the NFL passed a new rule allowing players to have an expanded jersey number options. Reddick is officially listed as a linebacker, so he has his choice of 1-59 and 90-99.
