The Sixers earned another last-second win on Friday night while Joel Embiid was sitting on the bench after banging up his knee against the Portland Trail Blazers.
So with Embiid on the bench, someone else had to step up and be the MVP.
And then Embiid tweeted something mysterious following the game.
Who is this Danielle and why is she the MVP?
The folks over at TCN's Breakfast on Broad did some digging this morning and may have unearthed who the "Danielle" Embiid was referring to was.
This is her on Friday night.
After going through the game footage, they found this shot of Embiid with a very pretty young lady who they believe to be Canadian model Danielle Knudson. Now, her Wiki page says she was dating some tennis player as of a year or so ago. But times and dating habits can change.
Could Danielle Knudson be Embiid's celebrity crush?
You'll also notice Embiid's latest Instagram was posted from the location listed as "Danielle's."
Another possible theory: Joel Embiid is messing with all of us regarding his "celebrity crush" and getting a date by making the All-Star Game. He prob just has a crush on a model and made up the whole date-if-he-makes-the-ASG thing.
Moments like this never get old.
On Saturday, the Temple football captured a special moment for junior tight end Chris Myarick.
After the annual Cherry and White game, the cameras were rolling when Myarick, from Cheltenham High School in Elkins Park, Pa., was awarded a scholarship after making the team as a walk-on in 2014.
Myarick’s teammates mobbed him after the news was announced.
He calls himself "The Process."
He is a main piece of The Process.
And now there's a Lego version of The Process' poster child.
Yes -- thanks to Redditor user dweg1999 -- we have a picture of what Joel Embiid would look like if, yes, he was built of Legos.
After sitting out his first two years in the NBA because of injuries, Embiid burst onto the scene and became an instant star for the Sixers. A piece they can build around both on the court and off it. He's charismatic who knows how to use social media.
Embiid is a special blend of greatness on the court and marketable off it. If he can stay healthy -- his season was cut short because of another one and he will be limited again in 2017-18 -- the Sixers have their guy to build around. Add in a Ben Simmons, a more experienced Dario Saric, potentially two more lottery picks -- at least one more -- and next season will be a whole lot of fun.
But for now, as we wait for the May 16 draft lottery, we are stuck checking out Lego versions of Joel Embiid. If only we were that good with Legos ourselves.
