Allen Barbre absolutely destroyed Clay Matthews with almost blindside block

The brutal football hit isn't what it once was given the ever-changing rules in the NFL, but once every now and then there's a good, clean licking that gets fans on their feet.

One such smackdown occured early in the Eagles-Packers Monday Night Football tilt. After the Packers moved the ball down the field with ease to take a 7-0 lead, Carson Wentz had the Eagles moving it back down the other way.

Speedster Bryce Treggs got the call on an end around and Allen Barbre made Clay Matthews pay.

Ouch.

Matthews left the game for a few snaps but returned later in the drive.

The Eagles punched it in to tie things up at 7-7 and we have a football contest on our hands.

UPDATE: Matthews later left the game and headed into the Packers' locker room. The team announced his return was questionable with a shoulder injury.

UPDATE2: Matthews returned to the game later in the second quarter.
