Philadelphia Police are investigating after Sixers' player Kelly Oubre Jr. said he was hit by a vehicle while he was walking in Center City on Saturday.
The crash happened around 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of Spruce and Hick streets, according to police.
The vehicle -- only described by police as a "silver vehicle" -- was traveling at a high rate of speed, when officials said, it struck Oubre as he was walking across Hick Street.

Police said the 76er was struck by the driver's side mirror in his upper chest. After the crash, officials said, the vehicle fled the scene, headed south on Hick Street.
Officials said he was transported to a hospital “in stable condition with a broken rib and injuries to his hip and right leg,” after being hit and he was released a few hours later.
The Sixers said Oubre was walking near his residence in downtown Philadelphia when he was struck.
On Wednesday, a 76ers spokesperson said Oubre continues to progress from his injuries and has resumed light physical activity with hopes of returning to play in the coming weeks.
The organization added that it appreciates the efforts of local police for investigating the situation and the support Oubre Jr. has received from the Philadelphia community.
An investigation into this incident, officials said, is ongoing.
Philadelphia police said on Wednesday that they have found no evidence supporting that there was a crash.
Sixers head coach Nick Nurse says he takes Oubre at his word and he believes in him and he stands by him with Oubre saying he was hit by a car Saturday night.
TMZ has ring doorbell footage of Oubre pulling a bike into his apartment seemingly in pain and talking to someone. TMZ says in the video he says "'I got hit by a car,'" which the person he's speaking to repeats. They also said the person Oubre's talking to is his wife.
The team said Oubre is out and will be re-evaluated in approximately one week, but is not expected to miss the rest of the season.
“It’s a pretty traumatic incident (but) he is home and resting fairly comfortably. That’s where we are right now," Nurse said during his pre-game media session earlier in the week.
Oubre returned to the team's practice facility as an observer on Tuesday before being re-examined to determine a timeline for an eventual return.
“He’s got an ‘I’ll be back before you know it’ type of attitude," Nurse said. "That’s a great place to start for him.”
Oubre is in his first season with the 76ers and has averaged 16.8 points in the first eight games. He was the 15th overall pick of the 2015 draft and has played with four other teams.
“It’s too bad that he’s been on an upward trend and heading towards a good season and stuff," Nurse said. “That’s kind of a bummer for me for it to happen to him — a guy who needed a break, was getting one and he did everything he could to give himself a break. Then to have that happen — it puts it in perspective as well.”
