Home After the Holidays: Sixers Host Wiz

Share

The Sixers will get to sleep in their own beds for more than a few nights as they tip off their first home game tonight since way back on December 17th against the Washington Wizards. The Sixers are returning from what will likely prove to be their toughest road trip of the season, one they started out nicely but kind of whimpered towards a respectable 3-5 record on. The Wizards... they're not very good on the road themselves.

As mentioned earlier in the day, the Wizards are off to an atrocious start to the season when playing on the road. They're 0-16 to be exact when away from the Verizon Center this season. That said, they've kind of had the Sixers number recently, having one five straight over Philly, including those two tough OT losses down in DC this season.

The Wiz are apparently pretty tired of that streak and have amped up their practices to prep for tonight's game.

"The main thing for us is playing defense and the last two days wereally picked it up and I think that will help us moving into the game,"Wall said.

This is, of course, a different looking Wiz club since last time the two teams face. Gone is the former face of the franchise, Gilbert Arenas, while new man in town Rashard Lewis has helped the team step up their defensive game.

The Sixers, well, they've been the Sixers. Jrue Holiday has really stepped up his game as of late while Evan Turner has continued to try and find his way (to put it nicely).

7:00 tip from the Wells Fargo Center. We'll be down at the game if anyone would like to chat it up in the comments.
