Injury update: Asante's status unknown

Tuesday was not a 10 percent day, so we have no way of knowing what Asante Samuel thinks his chances are of playing Saturday.

Samuel frequently jokes with the beat guys covering the Eagles that he only does interviews 10 percent of the days the locker room is open.

He calls those 10 percent days, and those come along only on days when the Eagles, in his view, have had a good practice that day.

The other 90 percent of the time, we get good-natured but inane banter like Tuesday: Hey, I got a big scoop for you guys. Its huge. But its going to cost you 1,000. Itll be worth it though. Come on, whos got 1,000? Hey, Les, you got 1,000?

Anyway, Samuel, who left the Eagles win over the Jets early Sunday with a minor hamstring injury, did allow that he did some things at practice Tuesday as he walked into the locker room and added later, My hammys cool.

For what its worth, Samuel did refer to the injury as a hamstring tweak.

On Monday, head coach Andy Reid said he expects Samuel to play against the Cowboys on Saturday.

Because of the short week, the Eagles did not have their normal Tuesday off. Reid put the team through an hour-long 10-10-10 session, which includes 30 offensive snaps, 30 defensive snaps and 10 special teams snaps.

Since the NFL requires teams to release official injury reports starting on Wednesday, the Eagles did not issue updates on any of their injured players.

But for the most part, the Eagles are healthy right now. Their biggest concerns are probably defensive linemen Darryl Tapp (broken rib) and Trevor Laws (knee tendinitis).
