DETROIT -- Jose Abreu and Adam Dunn hit consecutive home runs, part of a seven-run seventh inning that sent the Chicago White Sox to an 11-4 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night.
Chicago sent 12 hitters to the plate in the seventh and broke the game open against Anibal Sanchez (7-5) and Joakim Soria. Alexei Ramirez added a three-run double in the inning.
Jose Quintana (6-7) allowed two runs and nine hits in six innings.
Detroit made three errors, including two in that seventh inning. Soria made his first home appearance since the Tigers acquired him in a trade with Texas. He retired only one of the seven hitters he faced and allowed his first two homers of the season.
Abreu hit his major league-leading 31st homer of the year. He finished with three hits, extending his hitting streak to 18 games (see full recap).
Stroman strong as Jays down Red Sox
BOSTON -- Marcus Stroman had his second solid start against Boston in five days, Colby Rasmus hit a solo homer and the Toronto Blue Bays beat the Red Sox 4-2 on Tuesday night.
Anthony Gose had a tiebreaking two-run double for the Blue Jays, who won for the ninth time in 11 games and improved to 9-3 against the Red Sox this season.

Xander Bogaerts homered and Dustin Pedroia added an RBI double for Boston, which has dropped all five games in Fenway Park against Toronto.
The Red Sox lost for the seventh time in eight games.
Stroman (7-2) held Boston to one run and six hits in seven innings, striking out eight and walking two. He took a no-hitter into the seventh last Thursday before giving up Shane Victorino's leadoff single for his only hit allowed in seven innings.

Alvarez outduels Strasburg in Marlins' win
MIAMI -- Henderson Alvarez outdueled Stephen Stasburg and the surging Miami Marlins beat the Washington Nationals 3-0 Tuesday night for their sixth straight victory.
Giancarlo Stanton drove in two runs as the Marlins won for the ninth time in 10 games and evened their record at 53-53.
Alvarez (8-5) gave up three hits and issued a season-high four walks in seven innings. He escaped a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the second, helped when third baseman Casey McGehee made a diving catch to rob Nate McLouth of extra bases.
Steve Cishek loaded the bases in the ninth before striking out Anthony Rendon to record his 27th save in 30 chances.

Cobb's 12 Ks lead Rays over Brewers
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Alex Cobb struck out 12 in eight innings and Ben Zobrist drove in two runs Tuesday night, leading the Tampa Bay Rays to a 5-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. It was the Rays' 11th win in 12 games.
Zobrist hit his ninth home run in the sixth inning for the only run off Milwaukee starter Matt Garza. Zobrist's double in the eighth off reliever Will Smith (1-3) put the Rays ahead for the first time. Pinch-hitter Logan Forsythe followed with another RBI double and the Rays went on to a four-run inning.
Cobb (7-6) gave up three hits and two walks in winning his third straight start. The right-hander is 5-0 in his last six starts.
Garza gave up five hits and two walks in seven innings, striking out two.
The Brewers, who have lost four of five, have scored two runs and had 12 hits in their last three games while striking out 30 times (see full recap).
