Duke's Mike Krzyzewski received plenty of attention when he became only the third coach in NCAA history to win 1,000 games.
He's about to have some company.
Longtime Philadelphia University coach Herb Magee — who has been a fixture on campus ever since the school was called Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science — is nearing 1,000 victories himself.
"I never really gave [1,000 wins] any thought," Magee told Comcast SportsNet's Amy Fadool in an interview on SportsNet Central last week.
Since the two sat down, Magee has moved even closer: he's now sitting on 999 career victories after a pair of wins last week.
Magee will try for win No. 1,000 on Tuesday night at home, as Philly U faces Wilmington at 7:30.
