Roddy White, Julio Jones think Dez Bryant could miss season

The receivers the Eagles couldn't cover in Week 1 have an opinion about the receiver the Eagles are fortunate to miss in Week 2.

In an interview on SiriusXM's Fantasy Sports channel, Falcons WR Roddy White compared Dez Bryant's foot injury to one suffered by his teammate, Julio Jones, in 2013.

Bryant suffered a Jones fracture in his right foot during the Cowboys' Week 1 win over the Giants. The initial recovery timetable given was 4 to 6 weeks, but White thinks Bryant could be out for the season.

"Me and Julio were talking about the whole situation," White said. "When [Jones] heard that [Bryant] broke his foot he was like, 'He’s got the same injury I got.' And, you know, we had to shut [Julio] down for the whole entire year. So I just don’t see him making it back this year.

"Or if he does make it back it will probably be late in the playoffs. It’s still a risk. Anytime you are coming off a foot injury, you know, he’s not going to be running or anything like that. It’ll be weeks before he can actually apply any kind of pressure onto it or even start walking around.”

That same injury cost Jones the final 11 games of the 2013 season. Neither White nor Jones is a medical expert, but it's worth hearing Jones' opinion on the matter since he and Bryant play the same position and are roughly the same size. Jones is listed at 6-3/220, Bryant at 6-2/220.
