Tanking in Memphis: Sixers Look to Continue Their Winning Losing Ways Against Grizzlies

Share

Six in a row. Most seasons, that'd seem like a lot of losses, but I was actually pretty surprised to see that the Sixers had just dropped a half-dozen straight, considering that I'd actually watched each of the games. That's probably because a bunch of the losses recently had been very good losses--L's where Jrue and 'Dre played well, where the boys kept in close until the end, and then blew it in the final seconds. At this point in the season, you really couldn't ask for a much better outcome in these games--nothing too demoralizing, but nothing hurting our lottery chances either. So no biggie for missing that game-tying three against the Bucks last night, Jrue--we all know it's for the best.

They're getting better by the day, too. For reasons largely inexplicable, the Pistons have decided to start winning games recently, and with their three straight victories have moved into a dead heat with the Liberty Ballers for the sixth spot in the lottery standings. What's more, with recent unanticipated wins, the Kings, Wizards and Warriors have all crept within two W's of the Sixers total of 2, meaning that with some lucky breaks over the final three games of the season, Philly could get as high/low as third from the bottom. DeMarcus Cousins/Derrick Favors, here we come!

8:00 tip from the FedEx Center. The Grizzlies are more fun to watch anyway.
