VOORHEES, N.J. -- Everyone was optimistic.

Sure, the Flyers lost Game 3 and trail their series with the Rangers, 2-1. Yet they can earn a tie in Game 4 on Friday.

We already know that the 2015 Winter Classic will be hosted by the Washington Capitals.

The turning point in Game 3 -- and we may look back on it as the turning point in this playoff series -- occurred with three minutes, 58 seconds left in the second period.

The Flyers finally said something about forward Steve Downie. He is out indefinitely, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

No specific injury was announced.

Very little went right for the Flyers on Tuesday night in Game 3 of their Metropolitan Division semifinal playoff series against the Rangers.
