The World Baseball Classic is set to kick off on March 5th and Jimmy Rollins talked yesterday to the media about the opportunity to play for Team USA. Rollins said the New York Mets trash talk would have to wait until spring training, but he did speak about being a backup on the team to Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter.
Some of Jimmy's thoughts on backing up Jeter:
“I have no problem (with that),” Rollins said Wednesday. “He’s a great
representative for USA baseball and I can’t think of a bigger city
(guy), a bigger name.”
...
“It has nothing to do with pride (or) who’s better,” Rollins said.
“This is a team, it’s not about me or him, it’s about us taking the WBC
title home. I’m just fortunate to be on the team - to be on the team is
enough. When I do play, I hope to contribute.”

Notice how he says Jeter is from a bigger city and a bigger name and then notes it's not about who's better.
Clearly J-Roll knows who the best short stop on Team USA is but he doesn't want to brag about it.
