The Russians twice overcame deficits of 2-1 and 3-2. Entering the third period tied, 3-3, Russia broke the stalemate with less than seven minutes remaining in regulation and added an insurance goal to the scoreboard less than two minutes later.

"[The Americans] played hard and fast," Bryzgalov told iihf.com. "They played with good energy. It was not easy. There are no easy games here."

Cal Heeter, a member of Team USA and a goalie for the Adirondack Phantoms, did not play in the game.

The Russians improved to 3-0, while the Americans fell to 2-1. See full recap at iihf.com.
