The Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team took down a squad of former Eagles Monday evening in a charity flag football event at the Wells Fargo Center, drawing a final score of 63-35.
Brian Westbrook, Ike Reese, A.J. Feeley and more took part in the “Tribute to Heroes” Flag Football Challenge, sponsored by the Military Benefit Association and Zimmer Tri-Skate, alongside the Soul as a part of their Military Appreciation Night.
Over 25 former Eagles and NFL players participated in the charity game, including Vince Papale and Mike Mayock.
Coaching the Eagles and NFL Alumni team was Soul owner and former Eagles quarterback, Ron Jaworski.
The Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team is a group set out to raise awareness and support for wounded warriors and their families. The team includes service members that now use a prosthetic device in their everyday lives, showing the perseverance of our service men and women, both active and former, that continue to face life’s challenges without excuses.
With the win against the Eagles Alumni, the Wounded Warriors record against NFL alumni teams stands at 8-0.
