Wow! Another big win for the Phils with Micheal Tucker stepping up in the top of the ninth with the go ahead RBI while pinch hitting for Todd Pratt. Shane Victorino came up next and hit his first major league home run and it couldn't have come at a better time. You have to love the bottom of the bench really stepping it up late in September. The Phils take this key series in Atlanta by beating them today 4-0.
I know its cliche but this was a must win for the Phils with Houston topping Pittsburgh today. Props to Jimmy Rollins setting the Phillies modern (post 1900) hitting streak by reaching 27 straight games. Jon Lieber pitched a great game today by going 8 strong and shutting down the Bravos. Billy Wags was all business in the 9th to combine for the shutout.
Bobby Abreu seemed to come up gimpy after sliding into home as the go ahead run. Let's hope he is okay. Also worth noting was the questionable decision by Bobby Cox to allow Hudson to bat in the 8th with a man on third. The seemingly infallible Cox seemed to make a big mistake there.
Houston has three straight day games in Chicago so plenty of score board watching in the next few days. Let's go Cubbies!
