Quick Slants: Jordan Matthews breaks out

After making just three catches in his first two games, Eagles rookie wideout Jordan Matthews finally made a splash in Chip Kelly's offense on Sunday.

Matthews hauled in eight passes for 59 yards, while sneaking into the end zone for his first two career touchdowns.

Both scores came from 11 yards out. Despite his two red-zone scores, the Eagles still rank 25th in the NFL in red-zone touchdown scoring at 42 percent.

"When you get inside the 20, this is the guy you look for," said CSN's Derrick Gunn on Tuesday's edition of Quick Slants. "This is why you drafted a 6-3 wide receiver."

Matthews' size and athleticism are two primary reasons the Eagles took him in the second round, but the trait that Reuben Frank admires about the rookie from Vanderbilt is his personality.

"I love how unselfish he is, how team-first he is," he said. "He doesn't care about his stats.

"He is a nuts and bolts kind of guy."
