DENVER – It's finally over.

After 75 days and 16 straight road losses, the Sixers snapped their skid away from home with a 99-85 win over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.

The Sixers outscored the Nuggets 27-9 in the fourth quarter to secure the win. They went 1-2 on their three-game road trip and moved their record to 18-54 on the season.

Turning point
Denver led 79-77 with 6:18 to play. The Sixers proceeded to outscore the Nuggets 22-6 to close out the game.

Follow the leader
For a second straight night, Robert Covington led the Sixers in scoring. He was 8 for 17 from the floor with six three-pointers to finish with 25 points.

Nerlens Noel had 14 points, 15 rebounds, four steals and four blocks.

Ty Lawson led the Nuggets in scoring with 19 points. He was 6 of 16 from the floor and added six assists.

Stat-egic
The Sixers gave up points in the third quarter to put Denver ahead four entering the fourth quarter. It was the second night in a row the Sixers allowed a 30-point third quarter and the 12th time this season.

Slow starts coming out of halftime have been an issue for Brett Brown's squad, but the Sixers' fourth-quarter defense made up for the earlier lapse.

Take a bow
Jameer Nelson has settled into his backup point guard role nicely in Denver. He has played 28 games with the Nuggets.

Nelson was averaging 17.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds with 3.3 three-pointers the last four games prior to facing the Sixers.

The Sixers did a nice job on the Chester native, holding him to 12 points on 6 of 16 shooting. Nelson did score six of the Nuggets' nine points in the fourth quarter.

What's next?
The Sixers return home to face the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.

The Clippers are currently seeded fifth in the Western Conference playoff picture and they are on a five-game winning streak after beating the Knicks on Wednesday.

Chris Paul had a double-double with 11 points and 16 assists against the Knicks, while DeAndre Jordan posted a double-double of his own with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan was 7 of 7 from the field.

Blake Griffin has played in six games since returning from elbow surgery to treat a staph infection. He missed 15 games because of the injury.

The Sixers lost the season's first meeting against the Clippers, 127-91.
