Laws: Eagles ‘should blow out' Seahawks

Is this really the time for trash talking? A day after an 18-point home loss dropped the Eagles into last place?

Welcome to the 2011 Eagles, who still think theyre a Super Bowl contender, even though they keep losing and losing and losing.

Defensive tackle Trevor Laws said Monday the Eagles should blow out the Seahawks Thursday night in their nationally televised game in Seattle and called the game easily winnable.

After the Eagles short no-pads, no-helmets walkthrough, Laws was asked at his locker about the challenge of staying motivated the rest of the season after losing to the Patriots 38-20 Sunday at home and falling to 4-7 and for all intents and purposes out of the playoff hunt.

The Eagles playoff hopes are all but mathematically gone, and they have to fly 5 12 hours Wednesday and play Thursday on a short week against the Seahawks.

Watching the film, I think its an easily winnable game, Laws said. If we play our game, we should blow these guys out. Thats just how I feel.

Laws comments came less than 24 hours after the Eagles suffered their worst loss of the season and worst home loss in more than two years.

The Eagles, tied with the Redskins for last place in the NFC East, have lost seven of their last 10 games to plummet out of the NFC playoff race.

The Seahawks, 4-7, have won two of their last three games but are coming off a 23-17 loss to the Redskins at home. They do have wins over the Ravens and the Giants this year.

For the record, the Eagles are 3-2 vs. Seattle under Andy Reid, including a 26-7 win in Seattle in their last meeting, in November of 2008. Donovan McNabb threw TD passes to Todd Herremans and Reggie Brown in that game.

The Eagles have won three in a row in Seattle since a 26-14 loss in 1995, when Rick Mirer outdueled Rodney Peete.

Heres the full quote from Laws:

Its tough. Were at a point we never thought wed be. Go out there and win this game, thats all thats on our minds.

Watching the film, I think its an easily winnable game. If we play our game, we should blow these guys out. Thats just how I feel. Short turnaround, but weve done it before. Get the bodies right and hopefully play well out there.
