Jason Peters says he's definitely playing Sunday

Jason Peters says he’s definitely playing Sunday and he’s definitely not going to aggravate his quad injury.

How can he be so sure?

“Because I am who I am,” he said.

Peters, who hasn’t gotten through a game healthy since the Cowboys game, returned to practice Thursday after two days off and pronounced himself healthy enough to start at left tackle for the Eagles Sunday when they face the Saints.

“I’m playing,” he said.

Peters initially got hurt against the Jets. He tried to play Sunday in Washington but lasted only seven snaps.

The Eagles on Thursday listed him officially as a full participant in practice.

“I feel good,” Peters said. “I did the whole practice today. Felt good. About to go ice up and get ready for Sunday.”

The Eagles need Peters back in form if they’re going to get their offense going.

The offensive line has been terrible so far, although it actually performed better Sunday in Washington after a hobbled Peters left the game.

The Eagles’ two other injured offensive linemen, right tackle Lane Johnson and left guard Allen Barbre, were both also full participants on Thursday and are expected to play.

Assuming no setbacks, the Eagles would start — left to right — Peters, Barbre, Jason Kelce, Matt Tobin and Johnson against the Saints.

“We’re not far,” Peters said. “We’ve just got to start getting our chemistry together and getting everything tightened up.

“Right now we’re in a slump, but we’re not far off from where we used to be.”

Cornerback Byron Maxwell (quadriceps), defensive end Taylor Hart (shoulder), safety Chris Maragos (quad) and defensive end Cedric Thornton (hand) were all listed as full participants.

Three defensive players did not practice and are not expected to play Sunday: defensive end Brandon Bair (groin) and inside linebackers Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) and Kiko Alonso (knee).
