BEREA, Ohio -- Browns owner Jimmy Haslam says he's determined to create stability in his organization, pledging not to "blow things up" if the upcoming season doesn't start well.

Speaking at training camp on Saturday, Haslam says he's confident the Browns are building a strong foundation. He adds he'll stick to the plan despite some major challenges in his first two seasons of ownership.

Haslam says he's pleased with the work done by coach Mike Pettine and general manager Ray Farmer. He calls them "smart, quality people, saying reports of the two not getting along are "totally inaccurate."

Haslam is encouraged by the progress he's seen from second-year quarterback Johnny Manziel, who had a rough rookie year and then spent 10 weeks in rehab during the offseason for an unspecified problem. Haslam says Manziel is "clearly engaged" this season.

Browns: Winn hurts right knee in practice
BEREA, Ohio -- Browns defensive lineman Billy Winn has been carted off the practice field with a potentially serious injury to his right knee.

Winn got hurt during an inside running drill Saturday as the Browns practice in full pads for the first time in training camp. Coach Mike Pettine says the team will know more about the extent of Winn's injury following an MRI and X-rays.

A sixth-round pick in 2012 from Boise State, Winn started five games last season. He recorded a career-high 31 tackles and an interception. In a win over Tampa Bay, Winn jumped over a Tampa Bay lineman and blocked a field goal in Cleveland's 22-17 victory.

On Friday, Browns coach Mike Pettine praised Winn for a strong offseason and said the team was looking for "big things" from the 26-year-old.

Browns running backs Terrence West and rookie Duke Johnson both sustained minor leg injuries.

Giants: Rodeo replaces Warren as team doctor
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Dr. Russ Warren is stepping down as the New York Giants team doctor after 31 years.

The Giants announced Saturday that Dr. Scott Rodeo will replace him. Rodeo has been an associate team doctor since 2000.

Warren will remain with the organization as an active emeritus team doctor.

Ronnie Barnes, the Giants' senior vice president of medical services who has been with the team since 1976, says Warren "has dedicated his life to advancing the field of orthopedics and sports medicine. We have been extremely fortunate to have him as our team physician for three decades."

Jets: Colon activated from activate-PUP list
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The New York Jets have activated guard Willie Colon from the active/physically unable to perform list, and he is expected to participate in the team's first padded practice Saturday.

Colon was placed on the active/PUP list Wednesday when players reported for camp because of pain in his left knee. Both Colon and coach Todd Bowles were optimistic Friday that he would be activated soon, with the guard saying that he felt good and it would be "time to roll" when he was activated.

The 32-year-old Colon has been the starter at right guard the last two seasons and will be competing with several players, including Oday Aboushi, Brian Winters and Brent Qvale.

Running back Stevan Ridley (knee) and defensive lineman Kevin Vickerson (hamstring) remain on the active-PUP list.

Broncos: Williams tears right Achilles
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Denver returner Kyle Williams tore his right Achilles during a punt return drill at training camp Saturday.

The oft-injured Williams missed much of the Broncos' offseason workouts with sore hamstrings.

He was reaching to scoop a football when he crumpled to the grass in pain and was carted off the field minutes later.

Williams, a fifth-year pro who has played in San Francisco and Kansas City, was in the mix for Denver's punt return job.

Coach Gary Kubiak said Williams "was doing a good job. He came back in great shape and was doing some return stuff, wasn't even touched. So, one of those things you just feel bad for him. I know he's very disappointed, so we'll support him best we can."
