BOX SCORE

NEW YORK -- For all the Nets’ struggles this season, they still have star-studded roster that is capable of great things.

That was evident on Monday night when the Sixers allowed Joe Johnson to erupt during the third quarter of a 130-94 loss at the Barclays Center.

Johnson scored 29 points in that third quarter to help hand the Sixers their seventh straight loss overall, and 11th in a row on the road. The Sixers’ record dropped to 7-19 with the defeat.

Brook Lopez, Brooklyn’s leading scorer, was sidelined for a second straight game after aggravating his sprained left ankle.

Sixers rookie Michael Carter-Williams missed his seventh-consecutive game while recovering from a skin infection on his knee.

Turning point
There was no one moment in this game that turned the Sixers’ fate. However, their inability to guard the Nets from the opening tip set them on the course for disaster.

The Nets shot 60.3 percent from the floor and 60.0 percent from behind the arc.

Follow the leader
Johnson outscored the Sixers, 29-25, in the third quarter. Johnson made 10 of his 13 third-quarter field goal attempts, including 8 of 10 from three-point range.

Johnson finished with a game-high 37 points without playing the entire fourth quarter.

James Anderson came off the bench to lead the Sixers in scoring with 17 points.

Stat-egic
The Nets became the 12th team this season to make at least 10 three-pointers against Brett Brown’s Sixers. The Nets also made their 15th three of the game late in the third quarter, becoming the sixth team this year to reach that mark against the Sixers.

The NBA record for a team allowing at least 15 threes in game was five.

The Nets finished 21 of 35 from behind the arc.

Take a bow
Deron Williams controlled the action for the Nets with a balanced 13 points and 13 assists. He also sat the entire fourth quarter.

What’s next?
The Sixers will have a rare three days between games. They return to action on Friday when they host these same Nets at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Sixers hope to get Carter-Williams back on the practice floor during that time in hopes of a return on Friday. The rookie point guard, who has been sidelined the past seven games (see story), was on the court prior to Monday’s opening tip working on his conditioning with assistant coach Lloyd Pierce.
